SANDOUT Soccer & Peace Initiative is a community development organization that focuses on soccer programs and tournaments as a means to cultivate relationships resulting in peace in Citè Soleil, Haiti, a notoriously impoverished and violent slum. By bringing together rival neighborhoods that are commiting to peaceful engagement, SANDOUT's thirty day tournaments are making a large impact on the level of gang activity in Citè Soleil. SANDOUT also provides educational opportunities for it's participants by tutoring students as they prepare for their state level exams. Community development and education are two keys to overcoming poverty and violence in Citè Soleil.
