A Community Approach
Your Classroom Sponsorship enables Upstream to build powerful community around the children we serve as we provide education, meals, teacher salaries, medical care, school equipment & supplies, along with other learning and development opportunities for our students & their families. This increases the impact of every dollar you give. After many years of having a typical sponsorship model & seeing the ways that we could improve, we decided this was the best choice for Upstream's partners. Because of the delicate nature of the area we serve, we have chosen an approach to sponsorship that best serves our students, staff, their school and community. We now offer sponsorship opportunities for students & classrooms corporately rather than specific children so that there will always be a seat at a desk for any student yearning for an education. In areas of deep poverty you will see students coming and going as their families are faced with homelessness and lack of resources. This can cause logistical issues and pressure for staff that is alleviated by keeping our sponsorship as a community, rather than an individual approach. We are so grateful for the Upstream Family that sees this as an opportunity to give in a way that is much bigger than themselves and has a broader impact.
